How to use
Substrate preparation
Make sure that the surfaces to be sealed are clean, dry, sound and free of grease, dust and contaminants. The surfaces can be cleaned and degreased
wiping with a suitable solvent such as DOWSIL™ R-40 Universal Cleaner prior to applying the sealant.
Method of application
The sealant is ready to use. Ensure that the joint is completely filled to prevent the presence of bubbles. The sealant should have a minimum thickness of 1 mm.
It is strongly recommended to use a triangular sealing bead inside the gap.
The joint should be machined within 5 minutes of application to ensure good contact between the sealant and the substrate.
The joint width of the sealant should be adapted to the movement of the material
putty. When designing joints with this product, the minimum width should be 6 mm. For a joint width of 6 to 12 mm, a sealing depth of 6 mm is required. For joints over 12 mm, the ratio of width to depth should be 2:1.
