JAX Magna-Plate® 8
Food grade grease for food processing equipment that has excellent pumpability and flow characteristics
Due to the low viscosity of the base oil, it is recommended for use in small, high-speed bearings and chains operating at low temperatures where grease flow and optimal oil release are essential for proper lubrication.
The water resistance of this grease is achieved by the innate capabilities of the calcium thickener system. In practice, this means that the grease maintains a smooth, buttery consistency that adheres with little stickiness.
This grease prevents unintentional contact of machine parts with bacteria and yeasts on machine parts and reduces their wear. It also provides excellent water and chemical resistance, preventing corrosion.

JAX Magna-Plate 8 is ideal for bakeries, beverage processors, dairy, flour mills, confectionery, ice cream and even sugar factories

- High Level of Wear Resistance – JAX Magna-Plate 8’s high level of anti-wear characteristics is demonstrated by an OK Timken (ASTM D 2509) value of more than 15 pounds and a LWI 4 EP Ball (ASTM D 2596) test result of more than 46 kgf and a weld point of 400 kgf. The 4 EP Ball (ASTM D 2266) performance is also remarkable, with wear marks of less than 0.49 mm.
- Superior Rust and Corrosion Protection – JAX Magna-Plate 8 easily exceeds the corrosion prevention standard (ASTM D 1743) in distilled water and prepared seawater.
- Excellent demulsibility – water resistance is particularly important in applications with food grade lubricants. Few industrial applications are exposed to the harsh water purification processes and chemical contaminations found in food and beverage plants.
- JAX Magna-Plate 8 is one of the most water resistant food grade greases available, achieving only 2% weight loss in the water wash test (ASTM D 1264)

Compatibility
Extensive grease compatibility testing has shown that JAX Magna-Plate 8 has very good compatibility with the vast majority of the most popular food grade greases on the market. Please contact your JAX sales representative for specific application inquiries.
How to use
When lubricating equipment after washing, use the lowest possible air pressure. This will force the sterilization and water compounds out of the bearings. Always lubricate equipment when stopped after disinfection.
