Technical data

Application method:

Shake the aerosol well before use from a distance of 15-30 cm.

The storage temperature should be kept below +50°C and the storage area should be free from direct sunlight.

The shelf life is 5 years from the date of production

Application Method

Cleaning - Clean the test area with FLAWFINDER Cleaner Spray and wipe thoroughly with a tissue or lint-free cloth. Ensure the surface is clean, dry and free from contamination. Repeat if necessary. After the final wipe, allow to dry before using FLAWFINDER Dye Penetrant.

Applying Penetrant - Spray test area and leave for at least 10 minutes contact time. Very accurate definitions may take up to 30 minutes.

Penetrant Removal - After the contact time has elapsed, excess penetrant should be removed with a dry cloth, repeating if necessary. Any remaining penetrant should be removed with a cloth dampened with the cleaning agent. Care should be taken at this stage not to wash away the penetrant with the cleaning agent as this may impair sensitivity. Repeat this procedure until the surface penetrant has been removed.

Application - Shake can well. Apply a thin coat of FLAWFINDER Developer to test area. Too much developer will mask the indications. Leave for 10 minutes to draw out retained penetrant from any crack defects. Larger cracks will appear immediately, minor defects or cracks may take a few minutes to develop the best indications.

Inspection Control - Suspect areas should be inspected under natural or electric light for signs of defects and cracks. Cracks will appear as lines, while porosity will appear as pin holes. If results are equivocal, repeat the process, taking greater care to remove excess penetrant.
