Shell Corena S4 R is an advanced synthetic air compressor oil designed to provide the highest quality lubrication for rotary vane and screw compressors. Its unique advanced additive system provides excellent protection and performance for compressors with oil change intervals of 10,000 hours, up to 12,000 hours under certain conditions. Shell Corena S4 R can be used where a synthetic gear oil, circulating oil or oil containing anti-oxidant and rust preventive additives is required.

• Vane and screw air compressors
  Shell Corena S4 R is suitable for use in injection and splash lubrication systems in single and two-stage air compressors.
• Difficult working conditions
  It can also be used if high temperatures and humidity occur.
• Gearbox and circulating oil
  Ideal for use where a gear oil, circulating oil or oil containing antioxidant and rust preventive additives in ISO VG 32-68 viscosities is required. In these cases it provides additional benefits due to increased resistance to deposit formation, improved low temperature fluidity and reduced equipment operating temperatures.

  Shell Corena S4 R enables oil drain intervals of 10,000 hours (where permitted by manufacturers) to be achieved, even at compressor discharge temperatures of up to 1000°C. Under certain conditions, drain intervals can be extended to 12,000 hours. The advanced formulation of Shell Corena S4 R extends the oil service life by:
• Exceptional resistance to temperature and chemical degradation.
• Resists the formation of deposits on rotating components in screw compressors and in the grooves of vane compressors, ensuring continuous operational efficiency.
• Low amount of deposits formed, which helps maintain excellent cleanliness of the internal surfaces of oil/air separators as well as in coalescing systems.
  Oil change intervals depend on compressed air quality, operating conditions and ambient conditions. In humid and hot climates such as in the Asia-Pacific regions, it is recommended to shorten the change intervals below the recommended 10,000 hours (we recommend checking the oil manufacturer's recommendations).

  Shell Corena S4 R provides exceptional protection against corrosion and wear of internal metal surfaces. It contains an excellent zinc anti-wear additive package, which significantly extends the service life of the most vulnerable mechanical components, such as bearings and gears.

  Shell Corena S4 R provides rapid air release without excessive foam formation, ensuring trouble-free operation, even in intermittent operation, ensuring reliable start-up and constant access to compressed air.
  Shell Corena S4 R has low volatility, which results in less evaporation and less oil carry-over in the compressor, ensuring fewer top-ups and better air quality.
  Additionally, Shell Corena S4 R is characterized by good water separation parameters, ensuring continuous, efficient operation, even in the presence of water.

Compatibility and Miscibility

• Shell Corena S4 R is miscible with mineral oils, but the addition of mineral oil reduces the oil's performance properties. Care should be taken when mixing Shell Corena S4 R with some types of synthetic oils.

Shell Corena S4 R does not pose a direct health hazard when used correctly for its intended purpose and in compliance with personal and industrial hygiene. Avoid contact with skin. Use protective gloves. In case of contact with skin, wash off the oil with soap and water.
